About Julia LeSueur
Julia LeSueur was born and raised in the beautiful foothills of Northern California. Throughout her childhood, Julia watched her mother design, cut, and sew matching dresses for her and her five sisters every year at Easter and Christmas. As she grew older, she began to love this creative process more and more and so after earning a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University in Humanities and Art History, she enrolled at the Fashion Institute for Design and Merchandising. While there, she focused on pattern making and product development. After graduation, she honed her skills as a pattern maker and designer while working for several Bay Area companies including Babette, Byer CA, and Stitch Fix. Finally, after eight years of industry experience (and sewing lots of dresses for her sister's weddings), Julia is proud to launch her first collection— BLANC by Julia LeSueur.
Style & Quality
The idea for BLANC began when Julia was looking for her own wedding gown. She wanted something different than what she found in mainstream bridal boutiques. Frustrated at the outdated gown shopping experience, Julia began brainstorming how to make it more efficient and more fun. BLANC is a bridal line for the discerning woman. It is an elevated design aesthetic, cut from luxury fabrics with close attention paid to detail and still at an affordable price. At BLANC, we use only the highest quality silks and laces responsibly sourced from all over the world. Julia's passion for design combined with her expertise in pattern-making give her a unique ability to execute an exceptional fit in each gown. Finally, we've cut out the middleman (or woman), by bringing our collection directly to you. So you get the true cost without the pricey bridal boutique markup.
Hand-Made in California
At BLANC, we value the intimacy and control we have over our product when we can see it (and touch it) in person, every step of the way. That is why all of our gowns are designed and produced in our California studio. Sketching, draping, drafting, cutting, sewing, and finishing touches are all done in house by our expert craftsman. All of our seamstresses bring a lifetime of experience to the table and contribute to the unmatched quality that you will find in each BLANC gown. Julia oversees every aspect of the creative process and she would not have it any other way. We love California and we love bringing a few more jobs to our vibrant community.
